I have always had a passion and deep respect for entrepreneurship. Having been a business-minded individual from an early age, I ran a successful home services sole-proprietorship to pay for my undergraduate education. Knowing first-hand what it takes to develop and grow a business allows me to connect and resonate with the clients of our firm, many of whom are owner-operators of highly successful private companies that they have built from the ground up.

Prior to joining Baker & Company, I worked as in-house counsel with two major universities in the Greater Toronto Area. In both instances, while providing legal support to multi-departmental institutional clients with complex legal, operational, and business needs, I developed a deep appreciation for the lawyer’s role as a trusted advisor. Good legal representation requires more than simply telling the client what the law is. The key to providing effective legal advice is having a good understanding of how it fits within the broader business context and individual goals of each client. Our boutique law firm environment affords me the opportunity to forge strong relationships while getting to know each client and learning about their business and the industry in which they operate. This, in turn, allows me to provide effective tailored solutions to legal challenges that fit within the overarching objectives of each client.
