His corporate practice encompasses business formations, shareholder arrangements, ongoing corporate governance and minute book management, as well as business acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic combinations. He regularly advises on commercial contracts and the implementation of complex, tax-driven, and inter-jurisdictional corporate reorganizations, often involving layered entities, multiple stakeholders, and competing commercial interests requiring careful coordination across legal, tax, and business considerations.

A significant portion of Andre’s practice sits at the intersection of corporate and real estate law. He advises on the acquisition, disposition, and financing of high-value commercial properties and development projects across multi-residential, industrial, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use asset classes, and regularly acts for both borrowers and institutional and private lenders in secured lending transactions.

Andre also maintains a focused practice in expropriation law, a specialized and technical area of real estate law. He represents property owners affected by government takings and public works projects, advising on compensation, valuation, and strategic negotiation issues.

Andre brings an entrepreneurial perspective to his practice. Prior to entering the legal profession, he operated a successful home-services business to finance his undergraduate education. Before joining Baker & Company, Andre served as in-house counsel to two major universities in the Greater Toronto Area, advising multi-departmental institutional clients on complex legal, operational, and governance matters.
